"ADVANCED 4D NANO DESIGN" New Materials Development Technology Receives "Tire Technology of the Year" Award in Europe

Feb 20, 2017

FALKEN is pleased to announce that our proprietary "ADVANCED 4D NANO DESIGN" new materials development technology was selected for the prestigious "Tire Technology of the Year" award at the recent "Tire Technology Expo 2017," which was held from February 14 through 16 in Hannover, Germany.
Held in Europe every year since its inception in 2001, the "Tire Technology Expo" is a trade exhibition and scientific/technical conference related to tire manufacturing and the overall tire industry. Each year, the expo features various research reports and presentations from tire manufacturers as well as raw material suppliers and public research institutions, culminating in an awards ceremony that recognizes outstanding technical achievement in five separate categories: Tire Manufacturing Innovation of the Year, Environmental Achievement of the Year, Tire Technology of the Year, Tire Industry Supplier of the Year and Tire Manufacturer of the Year.
Our proprietary "ADVANCED 4D NANO DESIGN" new materials development technology utilizes world-class, cutting-edge research facilities such as the "SPring-8*1" Large-Scale Synchrotron Radiation Facility, the
"J-PARC*2" Proton Accelerator & Experimental Facility and the "K Computer*3" supercomputer together in coordination, thus making it possible to analyze and simulate the internal structures and behaviors of rubber materials precisely and continuously from the nanometer scale to the micron scale with the aim of achieving balanced high performance in terms of the three inherently contradictory Key Tire Performance Traits: Fuel Efficiency, Grip and Wear Resistance.
We at FALKEN are pleased to accept this award as a further sign of the recognition that we have received for our innovative work and cutting-edge technical capabilities in the field of new materials development. Encouraged by the acclaim that we have received, we will redouble our efforts to develop and produce high-value tires that provide balanced, superior performance in terms of fuel efficiency, grip and wear resistance performance in order to better meet the needs of our customers.
*1SPring-8 is the world's most powerful synchrotron radiation facility.*2J-PARC is a proton accelerator & experimental facility that is used for cutting-edge research. *3K is one of the world's most powerful supercomputers in terms of overall processing capabilities.
